The IT Masters Scholarships

The Scholarships

There are 6 scholarships available for students commencing at the beginning of 2007. Each of the Scholarships is for $3,900 which will be used to reimburse the winner's university subject fees for any of the courses listed at the www.itmasters.com.au website. The scholarships will be awarded on merit with the key criteria being ‘how you feel this scholarship could help you to make a difference to your profession or to help you to achieve best practice’.

These Scholarships have been established in recognition of an inspirational example of what can be achieved in pursuing one's goals against what seems an insurmountable tide of resistance. On the 5th April, 2005 Peta Morgan graduated with a Master of Networking and Systems Administration (MCSE) at the Graduation Ceremony at Wagga Wagga. Throughout her studies Peta was being treated for cancer, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. The radiation stints left her with lymphodermia in her left leg, which required regular compression bandaging to keep under control. Despite these difficulties, Peta continued working in IT at Century Mine in far North West Qld working a roster of 12 hour shifts, 14 days on 7 off. Peta's role was to provide management and maintenance of a network of 300+ users (consisting of Windows 95, NT, 2000 and XP clients) in an extremely remote location which provided some unique challenges. Sadly, there are some hurdles that even Peta could not overcome and on the 16th of April, 2006 Peta was finally released from all her pain and suffering.
